Here at Bristol Tutor Company, we support all of our students no matter their age or their skill level with their functional skills English qualifications. These qualifications are mandatory for most employers and are needed to get into work or a university course. If you don’t already have a GCSE grade C or above, these equivalents are likely your best option.
Functional Skills English is designed for those who have not yet achieved the GCSE qualification. It uses real-life scenarios to help develop day to day skills as well as giving a certified grade. These are offered in the UK by multiple awarding bodies including City & Guilds, Pearson, Edexcel and Open Awards.
The course covers all of the key areas of the English Language including speaking and reading and writing. They are available at different levels starting with entry-level to level 2. They are edited to suit learners of all backgrounds and are used as an alternative to traditional GCSE English exams.
Functional Skills English qualifications are highly accepted and valued by employers and universities as they demonstrate a good understanding of the subject as well as give necessary practical skills which can be transferred after completion.
